On May 26th, China National Textile and Apparel Council held a scientific and technological achievement appraisal meeting for the “Key Technology and Application of Jet Vortex Spinning Cotton High-count Yarn Production” jointly undertaken by Yueda Textile Group and Jiangnan University in Yancheng, Jiangsu. The experts of the appraisal committee listened to the project report, reviewed the relevant materials, inspected the production site, and watched the samples. After the inquiry and discussion, they believed that the overall technology of the project reached the international advanced level and agreed to pass the appraisal. At the meeting, Dai Jun, general manager of Yueda Textile Group, delivered a speech, Liu Biying, executive deputy general manager of Yueda Cotton Textile Company, Fan Qiguang, chief information technology officer of Yueda Textile Group, and Fu Jiajia, associate professor of Jiangnan University, on behalf of the project team for work report, technical report and Reports on scientific and technological innovation, quality inspection, and user use.

In order to expand the application of cotton fiber in jet vortex spinning, Yueda Textile Group and Jiangnan University selected the project “Key Technology and Application of Jet Vortex Spinning Cotton High-count Yarn Production” as a research topic in 2015. The project focused on key technical issues in the production of jet vortex spinning cotton high-count yarns, and original innovation and integrated innovation in jet vortex spinning equipment. Through equipment improvement, component development and process optimization, the key technical difficulties in the production of jet vortex spinning cotton high-count yarns were overcome, and the pure cotton fibers were stably twisted and continuously yarn-forming under the action of jet vortex.
The project realized the development and industrialization of pure cotton jet vortex spinning yarn with a fineness of 7.3tex (80S). Breaking through the production bottleneck of jet vortex spinning cotton high-count yarn, with innovative and independent intellectual property rights, it has applied for 6 patents, including 3 invention patents and 1 utility model patent; 6 papers, including SCI and EI 1 article. At the same time, the jet vortex spinning cotton high-count yarn developed by the project has less hairiness, smooth and wear-resisting performance, and is especially suitable for high-end children's wear, sweaters, shirts and other end products. The added value of the products is high, and the economic and social benefits are remarkable.
